Student Affairs Board

The Student Affairs Board is comprised of the Vice President for Student Affairs who acts as the chairperson to the committee. The VP runs weekly or bi-weekly meetings. Student Affairs Board discusses issues of diversity and minority issues on campus, while working to provide appropriate programs and initiatives to get students involved in tackling these issues.

The Student Affairs Board also provides services to students through the mandatory Student Association fee. These services include:

  • Revolving Loan Program
  • Lawyer Program
  • 5-hour pre-licensing course
  • Defensive Driving course
  • Burghy’s Video Den
  • Vacation Bus Transportation
  • Daily Shuttle Bus Service
  • Ski and Snowboard Rental Service
  • And coming soon in 2011… Shuttle Bus Service to Whiteface Mountain

At our meetings, we discuss how we can improve these services to better serve the students of SUNY Plattsburgh. We also talk about adding services when there is student need. Be a part of the discussion, and give your input!

Another responsibility of the Student Affairs Board is to stay educated on state and local issues that affect students. For example, the Student Affairs Board hosted a panel discussion to educate students on the Public Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act.
