Arts Board

The Arts board consists of the Arts Acquisitions and Arts Council committees- both of which have a major impact on the aesthetic aspect of the Plattsburgh State campus.

The Arts Acquisitions board is an open-to-all meeting that occurs bi-weekly to decide on which pieces (paintings, photos, sculpture and more) will be purchased for placement on campus or in collection for rotation with other pieces throughout campus.  Each semester the Arts Acquisitions board is allocated with a sum of SA funds to make purchases with.

The Arts Council consists of the chairs of each arts department and the VP for the Arts of the SA to discuss the arts events that occur on campus, including (but not limited to) visiting artists, arts forums, and student exhibitions. While much of the Arts Board consists of faculty, it should be known that those committees exist for the purpose of serving the students in allowing them to have an impact on the look of campus, and how the SA money will be spent to provide students with a creative outlet.

Arts council meetings occur monthly on a need to happen basis. If interested in attending the Arts Acquiition Board or want more information, contact the Vice President for the Arts!
