President

Fellow Students,

I hope everyone is having a fantastic semester and making the most of their college experience!  Please do not hesitate to

contact the Student Association regarding any issues you may have.  We are here to help you, so please use us.

The 47th Legislation would love to see more involvement from students at large.

We welcome any comments or suggestions you may have regarding any issue affecting SUNY Plattsburgh students.   There are several ways to make your voice heard.

1)     Stop in the Student Association office (2nd floor of the ACC)

2)     Speak with a Student Association officer (we wear our polos on Wednesday)

3)     Post on our Student Association Facebook page

4)     Post on our Student Association Angel page (search: Student Association)

5)     Put a comment in the Student Association Discussion Box (ACC Desk)

6)     COME TO SENATE MEETINGS!

(Every Wednesday at 10:15pm in the Cardinal Lounge)

7)     Executive Council meetings are Every Monday at 10:15pm in the Alumni Conference Room

If you just want to know what's going on, the minutes of both Senate and Executive Council are posted on our Angel page.  Each semester all students pay a mandatory SA fee.  This money goes to a variety of things including services many of you may not be aware of.  Please stop in the Student Association office if you would like to know more.

This semester the Student Association officers have been working extremely hard on a variety of issues.  Several great things have come out of these efforts, such as the Walk on By Week (which included the distribution of STOP HATE materials, the Laramie Project, and a unity rally to combat the picketers on campus,) extension of the Learning Center hours (including the hours cut from the budget,) monthly Faculty Showcases, and a new accreditation program for clubs & organizations.

I'll leave you with a quote to ponder:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

-         Margaret Mead

Have a great rest of the semester everyone!  I'm here whenever you need me.
