The Exhibition

The Plattsburgh State Art Museum wishes to express
appreciation to Marion Wagschal for lending her
boundless energy to the development of this exhibition
and to James Campbell for his insightful essay. The
exhibition would not have been possible without the help
of my co-curator, Jacqueline Stoneberger, who introduced
us to Marion’s work in the exhibition Made in Canada
(2001), and worked with both Marion and myself in the
selection of the exhibition.
We are grateful to the lenders of the exhibition including:
The Ludmer Art Limited Partnership, Gordon Collection-
Galerie de Bellefeuille, Musée national des beaux-arts dú
Québec, Sandra Goodwin Collection, Musée d’Art de
Joliette, Indra Kagis McEwen Collection, Dr. and Mrs. A.D.
Taliano, several private collections, and works lent by the
artist.
A project of this scale is only made possible with the financial
support of several organizations and departments on campus
including: College Auxiliary Services,
Plattsburgh State
Student Association, The Friends of Art, Winkel Endowment
of the Plattsburgh College Foundation,
The Center for the
Study of Canada, and the State of New York.
The very capable staff manages the coordination of the
various facets necessary to stage an exhibition at the
Museum. The diligent work of Mary L. Beauharnois,
Designer; Marjorie Coughlin, Secretary; David Driver,
Installations/Preparator; Cecilia Esposito, Collections
Specialist; and Marguerite Eisinger, Docent Coordinator. The
Docents, a volunteer group that contribute hundreds of
hours each year to the Museum, and several dedicated
students who keep the galleries open and insure that our
exhibitions are available to the campus and regional
community. My sincere thanks.
