Over the past years, the value I have placed on photography has varied. Photography has facilitated the recording of visual experiences, providing tangible documentation of an event or location. Beyond simple documentation, it also became a medium through which I was able to isolate beauty from the noise and complexity of the world. More recently, it has enabled me to identify those experiences
and relationships from my past that have strengthened me. As its impact on my life has intensified, photography has
helped me to understand that my internal experiences are unique and invaluable.
These photographs, for me, are not about specific moments. They do not represent definite times or places; rather they exist in a suspension, embodying a sensation, emotion or memory. They are internal responses to the effects of past and present externalities. Little jars filled with hopes and frustrations, fears and desires. It is through their creation that I attempt to identify and comprehend things that transcend the realm of tangibility. |
