An explanation of our logo:

We have used the "not" symbol with our Super Saturday School name because our students informed us that the notion of "school" was incorrect and that it gave, in their opinion, the wrong impression to future students and their parents. They tell us, "Super Saturday School is not like school. It's fun! There's much more freedom. There are no grades. It should be called "not school"!

Our Super Saturday School students were referring to some of the following facts:

1) The Super Saturday School program is designed to address student choices and ideas. We offer the courses that our students ask to learn and experience.

2) Students may choose to attend any class they like and may switch classes if they decide they would rather attend another class.

3) Students may even choose to spend a class period in our resource room with a game of chess or a conversation with a new found friend or a friend they see only at SSS.

4) There are no tests and no grades, although there may be contests from time to time, in which students may voluntarily choose to compete.

5) Parents are invited to attend classes right along with their children or to participate in the Super Saturday School program in whatever other way they wish.

6) There is no Principal and no Principal's office, just happy teachers having fun along with their students.

In short, the kids are right! Super Saturday School is NOT like school!
